Set Up Guests

Invite Another User to myQ Account

The myQ Users feature allows you to invite 2 Co-Owners and up to 5 Guests. They can access your myQ account without having to share your password.

• Co-Owners - A Co-Owner is ideally a family member or close friend you can trust to share with account with, including settings and features. They have access to view and control your myQ devices, view history logs, set up and receive notifications, create or modify schedules, and can invite other guests to the account. 
• Guests - A Guest is someone who receives limited access like a neighbor, plumber or dog walker. They have limited access to specific devices you share during specific time periods. Their access is limited to opening and closing garage doors and gates, locking or unlocking a door with a smart lock and turning a light on and off. Guests will not have access to history, notifications and schedules. 

The devices that are unable to be shared with either Co-Owners or Guests are commercial door operators or myQ cameras.

Send an Invitation

1. Open the myQ App
2. On the main menu Tap Users on the bottom of the screen
3. On the Users menu Tap + (top right)
4. Enter the Users name, select the + next to the name filed to pick from your contacts list.
5. Enter the Users email twice to confirm then select the bottom arrow.
6. Select Relationship to the person that is being invited and tap the bottom arrow.
   • Family
   • Friend
   • Other
7. Select the type of access. Do you want to give full or partial access?
   • Co-Owner - A Co-Owner is ideally a family member or close friend you can trust to share the account with you, including settings and features. 
   • Guest - A Guest is someone who receives limited access like a neighbor, plumber or a dog walker. 
8. For Co-Owner - tap Send to send invite.
9. For Guest - select an access period, When and how long you want your guest to have access to your myQ connected devices.
   • Always
   • Temporary
   • Recurring
10. If Temporary or Recurring is selected select the preferred times for the User and select the bottom arrow. 
11. Select the myQ devices you would like to share with the User and select the bottom arrow.
12. Send an invite to the User.

Note: The myQ Users feature is available in the latest version of the myQ app.
